DARK ART

Went to quite an interesting exhibition today at the Royal Festival Hall. As the first image says, the art was made by offenders, secure patients and detainees. It reminded me a bit of a matric art exhibit except that even if the piece was really badly crafted, it still had a dark, underlying message that came across. You can't help but feel sorry for some of these people. But you also can't help wondering what each artist has done to get to their position. There were actually some good art works too, including some reasonable oils, crazy drawings and one mad matchstick boat aslo pictured above. I'd love to see what our Pollsmoor buddies could come up with.

IN THE COUNTRY

Spent the weekend of the 10th - 13th in Dorking with Kez's family. It's about 50 minutes south of London on the overland train. Was really nice to get out of London and experience what the green pastures have to offer. Once again I was in my element with two soccer fields, cricket nets and a river.

WAX ON, WAX OFF

Went to the amazing Madamme Tussauds this week. Was ultimately surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Some of these figures are mind-blowingly real. And pretty recent too, with the likes of the most irritating movie stars of our time, Robert Pattinson with his own private booth, and Miley Cyrus. There is also a really really awesome 4D movie experience with some Marvel comic heroes fighting in and around London. 4D invloves being sprayed by water and air, being poked in the back by your chair, vibrations and a 360° 3D dome view. So sick.
