FREELANCE
Been working on some album illustrations for a band in Australia while I've been here. These are their four soon-to-be-released single covers.

BÄST
This evening we managed to get on the guest list to an exhibition by a New York artist, BÄST, near Soho Square. He's apparently quite a well know name in the graff world for his wheat-pastes. The show was ok. Most of his pieces were a combination of screen printing and painting. I liked some of his pop art style collages. Nothing too new but not too bad to look at. He also had some that were a bit less to my liking. However I'm not one to judge him; he was making, on average, £4500 per painting. His main piece went for £8000.

TIME FLIES WHEN YOU HAVING FUN
Can't believe I've been here for almost 4 weeks already. To keep track of things I bought this watch. Just wanted a simple design with all the gadgets. Ordered it from www.watchshop.uk on a Friday and it was delivered by Monday, free of charge, for a total of £15.

SUNBURNT IN WALES?
Went to Wales over the weekend for one night. I was expecting a rainy and cold couple of days peppered with some sunshine. I was pleasantly surprised after a seven hour drive when i was welcomed by what resembled a mixture of Thailand, Greece and South Africa. We stayed in the Pembrokeshire area, at a camp site called Skrinkle Bay. With ridiculous views and a five minute walk to our own private beach, it was nothing short of amazing - at least for six guys and a bag full of ball games. Activites included: the highest rock jump I've ever done, swimming, beach cricket, soccer, aerobee, stingers and one big Saturday night. Awesome.

LIVING UNDERGROUND
So the majority of my time here in the UK I've been staying with my sister in Barons Court. That's South West London. The area is quite nice. Seems very traditional and straight forward. Quite close to Wimbledon tennis stadium. A lot of South Africans live around here; Hammersmith, Earl's Court, Putney, etc. The rest of my time so far has been with Warren in Angel. This is more towards the East of London. This is closer to the more "trendy" (for use of a better word) area of the city, like Brick Lane, Camden and Shoreditch. Couch surfing has it's benefits but I'm definitely starting to miss a real bed... (sigh)
